Tidy up

Deadline is just a few hours away. Now is the time to check your blogs.

  • Is everything where it should be and when it should be? Check uncategorized, any of your stuff there?
  • Don’t post planning after your product, it won’t be marked and could lose you marks for poor time management. A storyboard isn’t going to help you now.
  • Check your spelling.

Mark Scheme

This is the mark scheme we’ll be using and it might be a good idea to take a look at what you’ve done and compare it to the mark scheme. Which group would you put your work in? We’re not expecting everyone to fall into ‘excellent’ but ‘minimal’ is, well, minimal. Where can you make improvements? What do you need to do to put it into the next level?

Half-Term Tidy Up

Hi folks,

Over half-term please make sure that you are tidying up your blogs:

  • Make sure that any work which is out of date or no longer relevant has been deleted from your account.
  • Ensure that all of the work you have published is in your category and NOT in Uncategorised!
  • Get the work to be in some sort of logical order – you should have all your planning first on the blog, followed by your print based products. Obviously the trailer will follow, and finally the evaluation will be added.

Any problems, please get in touch. The relevant details can be found on the Contact button near the top of the blog.

It’s worth understanding what’s expected of you in the evaluation so here are the questions you need to cover.

‘Each candidate will evaluate and reflect on the creative process and their experience of it. Candidates will evaluate their work electronically. The format of the evaluation has some flexibility and its form can be negotiated between teacher and student: it may take place with individual candidates or with the production group as a whole, or each individual candidate or production group may make a formal or informal presentation to the whole class.

The questions that must be addressed in the evaluation are:

  • In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  • How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
  • What have you learned from your audience feedback?
  • How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?’

If you keep these questions in mind as you work through the production and the planning it will make the evaluation process a bit easier.
